Acts Ch 2:1 The festival of Shavu'ot arrived, and the believers all gathered together in one place.
Reflections on Pentecost: The Church is Born
Was the Christian Church born on Shavuot? No. This is a false teaching.
What the Christians call Pentecost is Shavuot, the commanded Feast of G-D. Not a single gentile was present at Shavuot except for Proselytes—gentiles who had converted into Judaism.
Acts Ch 2:5 Now there were staying in Yerushalayim religious Jews from every nation under heaven.
6 When they heard this sound, a crowd gathered; they were confused, because each one heard the believers speaking in his own language.
7 Totally amazed, they asked, "How is this possible? Aren't all these people who are speaking from the Galil?
8 How is it that we hear them speaking in our native languages?
9 We are Parthians, Medes, Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Y'hudah, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,
10 Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome;
11 Jews by birth and proselytes; Jews from Crete and from Arabia. . . ! How is it that we hear them speaking in our own languages about the great things God has done?"
The 3000 men who were trusted in YESHUA on that Shavuot were all Torah observant Jews:
Acts Ch 2:41 So those who accepted what he said were immersed, and there were added to the group that day about three thousand people.
Peter (Kefa) didn’t even go into the house of a gentile until Acts Chapter 10.
Acts Chapter 10:28 He said to them, "You are well aware that for a man who is a Jew to have close association with someone who belongs to another people, or to come and visit him, is something that just isn't done. But God has shown me not to call any person common or unclean;
No ‘Christian Church’ was born on Shavuot. Yes, the HOLY SPIRIT came upon YESHUA’s Talmidim as promised, but nowhere in Acts Ch 2 are we taught that a ‘Church’ was born or some sort of ‘Age of Grace’ began. Those are false teachings. The Age of Grace, if we can all it that, began in the Garden.
I want to point out something very important that I believe is very much overlooked:
Suppose a ‘Church’ was born on Shavuot. Let’s assume that is true. That church would would have been born from obedience to G-D’s Torah/Holy Laws because all the Jews present on Shavuot were obeying G-D’s Torah/Holy Laws to keep and observe HIS commanded Feast. If a ‘Church’ would have been born it would have been a Torah Observant Church, which the gentiles refuse today. So what we see is the gentile Christians claiming some sort of Christian church was born on Shavuot, what they call Pentecost, which denies Torah—which is not only a false, ignorant, teaching, but an evil lie created by satan.
The fact that Christians claim the ‘Church’ was born on Pentecost without obeying and keeping G-D’s Torah/Holy Laws is in itself ignorant and rebellious, for the Scriptures teach the Truth. All the Jews present on Shavuot were keeping Torah and obeying G-D’s Torah/Holy Laws. Peter was a Torah observant Jew keeping Shavuot and preaching the Crucifixion of YESHUA MESSIAH on Shavuot. Let that sink in deep into your mind and heart.
Answer:
The above question and answer is one of the most horrible false teachings there is.
Let’s investigate.
The person giving the answer quotes Matthew Ch 5:17.
Matthew Ch 5:17: 17 "Don't think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete.
Does the writer not also quote Luke 24:27?
Luke Ch 24:27 Then, starting with Moshe and all the prophets, he explained to them the things that can be found throughout the Tanakh concerning himself.
Does the person answering the question not also understand that not all of the Prophecies the Prophets gave are not fulfilled yet? YESHUA strictly stated HE did not come to abolish the ‘Torah’ and the ‘Prophets’ Two—not one. YESHUA said HE came not to abolish but to complete. YESHUA completed all the things in G-D’s Torah/Holy Laws written about HIM as well as the Prophets. But as we know there are still many Prophecies that are not fulfilled yet. So if you are no longer to obey the Laws then what about the Prophets? YESHUA fulfilled both, not just one. Are you to dismiss the remaining Prophecies and claim to believe only the ones YESHUA fulfilled concerning HIMSELF? Of course not.
And as we see in Luke Ch 24:27 YESHUA taught two men from the Torah and Prophets concerning HIMSELF. The two men were Jews who understood the Torah and Prophets. No where do we read that YESHUA told the two men to no longer follow G-D’s Torah/Holy Laws.
Let’s move further.
Matthew Ch 5:18 Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah -- not until everything that must happen has happened.
19 So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
The person who claims Christians no longer have to keep the law forget to mention verses 18 and 19. And probably for good reason because verses 18 and 19 would destroy his false claim.
In verse 18 we clearly see YESHUA MESSIAH teach that until Heaven and Earth pass away not much as a Yud or stroke will pass from the Torah—not until everything that must happen has happened.
Everything that must happen has not happened and will not happen until G-D destroys the Heavens and earth with fire and creates the New Heaven and Earth (Revelation Ch 21). There are still many unfilled Prophecies. Zechariah Chapter 8, 12 and 14, Isaiah Ch 2, many more. These Prophecies have to happen.
In verse 19 YESHUA teaches the final warning that proves HE did and never would command anyone to stop obeying Torah—even the gentiles who would become grafted in (Romans Ch 11, Ephesians Ch 2). YESHUA warns: Whoever disobeyes the least of the Torah (like eating pork for example) and teaches others to do so will be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever obeys Torah and teaches others will be called Great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
You can argue and say that only applied until YESHUA died. Why would YESHUA give such a warning that would only apply to such a short period of time? YESHUA’s warning was meant for every generation.
And as we learned from Acts Chapter 2, all the Jews who believed in YESHUA were present at Shavuot—keeping Torah which includes obeying the commanded Feast of G-D. If YESHUA’s warning would have only applied to when HE was alive why were HIS Talmidim keeping the Feast of Shavuot? Do you see how Scripture alone destroys the lies? And the lies come from satan.
Now we’re going to turn to the Apostle Paul. Did Paul teach the gentiles that they didn’t have to keep the Law.
Let’s look at Acts Ch 21:25
Acts Ch 21:25 "However, in regard to the Goyim who have come to trust in Yeshua, we all joined in writing them a letter with our decision that they should abstain from what had been sacrificed to idols, from blood, from what is strangled and from fornication."
The Elders ordered the gentiles to abstain from four things—four things that are from the Torah. The four things they commanded the gentiles not to do were not new teachings or outside of the Torah. And Paul agreed to this. So how could Paul teach the gentiles not to obey Law when the four things the Elders commanded them to obey are the Law?
Acts Ch 21:24 Take them with you, be purified with them, and pay the expenses connected with having their heads shaved. Then everyone will know that there is nothing to these rumors which they have heard about you; but that, on the contrary, you yourself stay in line and keep the Torah.
The Elders were the Authority, not Paul. YESHUA built the Messianic Community (or what is called the Church) on Peter, not Paul. The 12 Foundations of the New Yerushalayim are named after YESHUA’s 12 Talmidm, not Paul. Paul listened and did what the Elders told him to do. The Elders were Jewish men who believed in YESHUA and were keeping G-D’s Torah/Holy Law as well as tens of thousands of Judeans.
Acts Ch 21:20 On hearing it, they praised God; but they also said to him, "You see, brother, how many tens of thousands of believers there are among the Judeans, and they are all zealots for the Torah.
If the Torah was not to be followed then why are the men who walked with YESHUA—the Elders—still keeping Torah and commanding Paul to prove that he does as well?
But what about the four things the gentiles were commanded not to do? Were those the only four commands? Does that mean the gentiles can go out and steal and lie and kill and not keep Shabbat and dishonor their mother and father? Of course not. But it can read like that because the gentiles were commanded to strictly not do four things. See how easy it is to misinterpret Scripture.
But let’s take a deeper look:
Acts Ch 15:21 For from the earliest times, Moshe has had in every city those who proclaim him, with his words being read in the synagogues every Shabbat."
From abstaining from the four things commanded by the Elders—four things from the Law—the gentiles could enter into the Synagogues on Shabbat and learn the Torah of Moshe instead of having the entire Torah given to them at once. Learning Torah does take time and how to apply each law to your life, your family, your community and to the world.
Again, I want to point out that the four things the Elders told the gentiles to abstain from were and still are directly from G-D’s Torah/Holy Laws. That means the gentiles were told to obey G-D’s Torah/Holy Laws. Think heavily on that.
And what did Paul say in Romans Ch 3?
Romans Ch 3:31 Does it follow that we abolish Torah by this trusting? Heaven forbid! On the contrary, we confirm Torah.
And what did Paul teach from to convince people about YESHUA MESSIAH?
Acts Ch 28:23 So they arranged a day with him and came to his quarters in large numbers. From morning until evening he explained the matter to them, giving a thorough witness about the Kingdom of God and making use of both the Torah of Moshe and the Prophets to persuade them about Yeshua.
The Torah and the Prophets.
How can you convince people about YESHUA from the Torah—about the HOLY SON of G-D who kept Torah—and then tell them not to do the things YESHUA did? That alone is evil in itself and a contradicts the very Truth of who YESHUA was and is and will always be.
I will mention one more false teaching:
People say I believe in the ‘WORD of G-D’ and rightly so. But what is the ‘WORD of G-D’? The answer is G-D’s Torah/Holy Laws.So when you deny the Torah/Holy Law of G-D you are denying HIS WORD.
Do you believe this:
Psalms Ch 119:105 (Nun) Your word is a lamp for my foot and light on my path.
What is the ‘Word’ King David is speaking of? King David only had the Torah to read from, do you realize that. And he wrote a copy of the Torah to read from.
Deuteronomy 17: 18 "When he has come to occupy the throne of his kingdom, he is to write a copy of this Torah for himself in a scroll, from the one the cohanim and L'vi'im use.
King David in verse 105 is writing directly about G-D’s Torah/Holy Laws.
And if you believe verse 105 then do you believe Psalms Ch 119:118?
Psalms Ch 119:118 You reject all who stray from your laws, for what they deceive themselves with is false.
If you refuse to believe verse 118 I ask why? It’s part of the same Chapter as verse 105. You can’t pick and choose which verses you will or will not accept.
Every time you see one of the writers in the New Testament mention the very ‘Word of G-D’ they are referring to the Torah. Not what they are writing, not the Prophets, not the Writings, but the Torah that G-D HIMSELF, through Holly Fire which was of Heaven and not earth, gave to HIS people on Mt. Sinai. G-D did speak to the Prophets, and the Prophets kept HIS Torah/Holy Laws and understood what G-D’s Word was.
Isaiah Ch 40:8 The grass dries up, the flower fades; but the word of our God will stand forever."
What ‘WORD of G-D’ was Isaiah speaking of in verse 8? The same ‘WORD of G-D’ King David spoke of in Psalms 119:105.
I’m not bashing Christians for I do love my Christian brother and sisters—I’m pointing out the false teachings that come from the Christian churches. Look at the Spiritual state of America? If the Christian churches were truly preaching G-D’s Truth would America be in the wicked, vile, shape it is in today? The churches alone have become corrupt—money hungry organizations that produce entertainment instead of G-D’s Truth, giving ear-tickling sermons instead of G-D’s Truth, social clubs instead of G-D’s Truth. Why would these places dare teach G-D’s Truth? G-D’s Truth requires obedience and change and people want to serve themselves, so they shop around until they find a church that fits their lifestyle and then holler: Don’t judge me! You believe the way you want and I will believe the way I want’ while not realizing the ‘I’ in their statement is not of G-D but of satan.
I’ll end here. I pray and hope this will help many see through the false teachings. Please, I beg you, read your BIBLES for yourself! Pray on all things! Test all Spirits!Seek G-D while he can be found and love HIM with all your Heart, Mind, Soul and Strength! Stop listening to false teachers. Open your Bibles and read G-D’s Truth for yourself. Pray for the HOLY SPIRIT and always, always, pick up your Cross daily and Follow YESHUA MESSIAH for it is HE who lives in you.
Galatians Ch 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Shalom and blessings.

Even until Jesus' time, they only had the Torah, Writings and Prophets. So of course He followed and obeyed Torah. If He had taught otherwise, no one would have followed Him at that time! He was speaking to Torah observant Jews and if Jesus followed the law, then we all need to as well.
